To all the bikers out there…

Being a hodophile, it was since my childhood I used to feel ineffeable about bikers, bikings, and roads. The beauty when it goes along with curved roads, the ease of it on highways, the excitement in off roads , the sound of bikes from biker groups when they pass through used to leave me in awe. It was when I came to Bangalore I got accompanied by few friends who loved road trips, trekking and adventures. I got a little lucky here I would tell. Slowly started to go on bike trips long and short distance only to see how these roads excites the bikers…the happiness in their eyes when they first time see and learn that there is another biker in and around. The identification of super bikes just by the sounds.. And two bikers together don’t become friends they become family.. Ask a biker which was their favourite memory of life..and there will be a huge list of trips when they were on roads and they can’t name one. And the discussion with bikers are always divergent. Sometimes about which bike is the best, sometimes of their dream bikes, sometimes about best off road destinations, sometimes about best ghats, sometimes about the path along the destination and sometimes about best food in the city…! Yes, I discovered that bikers are also expert with knowledge of unheard unfamiliar food spaces. There are instances where they just ride along 200km just to have an Idli..😬 Not sure if it’s for the love of Idli or for the bike.

When asked with biker friends about what biking means to them and why it excites them I got these as answers :

“The pleasure is when you finish your day's ride, and reach in one piece. You're the smallest vehicle on the road, and you've survived.

The pleasure is when you take off your wristwatch, and see a band of untanned skin.

The pleasure is when your motorcycle and you move as one single united form. Whatever shape the road takes, whichever end of the compass it leads to.

The pleasure is when you use your hands, arms, thighs, knees and feet to steer.

The pleasure is when you take off your riding jacket for a break, and feel the breeze dry your sweat.

The pleasure is when you sing to yourself on an empty road. You're the world's best rock star.

The pleasure is when you cut through air, at 50 kph or 100.

The pleasure is when you are free. Open.

Independent. Liberated.

The pleasure is when you are a biker.❤️”

“Biking for me means to explore ..And that excites me because it reduces my stress and makes me feel happy”

Well…these are just some glimpses of it.

It’s a bliss to watch people who does something passionately whole heartedly. And watching bikers feels the same! And on a bike No one ever asks “Are we there yet?”.. It’s the journey with free road.. full tank and full throttle.

To all the bikers out there : Race the rain, Ride the wind , Chase the sunset and when life throws you a curve Lean into it.❤️

"Hampi"ness

Hampi... Where do I start from? 3 days ago I only knew that Hampi which is in present "Vijayanagara" district is something which has wide variety of architectures , constructions and was one of the rich cities in Indian History. Prior to this while reading a book called "Tejo-Tungabhadra" I had some small imagination of how the city might have been and this also gave me a little more trigger to my dream of visiting Hampi. And then, it was there...in front of my eyes...the stories of how a vast amount of architectures were demolished by Bahamanis , the stories of richness , the stories of culture and heritage, the beauty of Indian architects...Each pillar had a story to tell. Each place was clearly shouting aloud its history. No, Hampi/Vijayanagara is not only about Krishnadevaraya... It's from Vidyaranya who laid a foundation to such a dream, it's from Harihara and Bukka who made the dream into reality. Here's to Hampiness.... Hampi w...

Kerala - A Bike Trip to God's Own Country

Kerala - A Bike Trip to God's Own Country  When it comes to Kerala trips, people speak about Munnar OR Wayanad in general... With the same thought we planned to have a Not so long trip to Kerala for 4 days since we had Christmas vacations on the way! With the suggestions from Kerala friends we learned that Munnar and Wayanad are at two Different parts of Kerala and it would be difficult to cover both of them. So as Part-1 , we planned to cover places from NORTH KERALA. Day 1: Started at 6am in the Saturday morning to Kannur from Bangalore, it was a 6 hour long ride. With breaks for breakfast and lunch, we reached Kannur(Kannanur) by 1pm and it turned out to be hotter than expected (30-33°C) since it stands along the coastal line. There are quite a few places that's beautiful in it's own way out there. We visited St.Angelo Fort which had a very long history and Payambalam beach which is a drive beach as well. Tired from a long journey we had a nice sleep at the end of the da...

One Earth!!!

This curious world we inhabit is more wonderful than convenient; more beautiful than it is useful; it is more to be admired and enjoyed than used.  It says that our ancestors used to worship animals, rivers, mountains, trees.  Now, can this be called a mere blind belief? Or  this had some deeper meaning to it? We still follow these but like 2 faces of a coin. At one hand we worship one Peepal(Ashwatha) tree amidst a temple and on the other side destroy hectares of forests in the name of progress and development. Global warming is real. It is no more a small topic that we used to read in text books. The impact is seen and felt everywhere around the world. Let’s start from facts and current status of what the impact of Climate changes are in India : Heat waves, as the years pass we can and we are experiencing heat waves that are reaching upto 50 degrees in some part of India. Over population and climate chan...
